"Freshmen, enjoy your air-in, er, bag-out, er... / hydrate."
A Stereotypical Corps Guy post.
Your mum asks how university's going. You talk for forty minutes about your shoes. She asks about your grades. You say your GPR is "a work in progress" and go back to the shoes. A friend from back home asks if you want to grab lunch off campus. You can't. You have a meal plan in Duncan, and Duncan has a schedule. You'll eat when you're told, in uniform, quickly. In high school you were top of the class and an Eagle Scout. Now you're a fish, and a senior has just told you your brass is a disgrace. You polish it until two in the morning. Your chemistry homework waits. Home for the summer, on a dinner date, you square every corner on the way to the table and call the waiter "sir". Your date asks why you walk like that. You ask, "like what?" **Why it caught on:** a cadet in khaki and white gloves on maroon and grey points straight at the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University. To outsiders half of it reads like code, which is the point: a campus full of cadets recognised every line.
