did you say / duck face
A Angry Black Woman post.
Your mate has had two drinks and one bad text from his ex. He holds up a finger, announces that he has something to say, and delivers a seven minute sermon on loyalty to a room that only came for the quiz. Someone in the group chat says "no offence, but" and then offends everyone. By the time you've put the kettle on there are forty-one replies, three voice notes and a lecture on manners from the person who started it. At the family barbecue, an uncle explains how to light a barbecue. His niece, who works in catering, lets him finish. Then she tells him, finger raised, exactly how it's going to go from here. The neighbour has parked across your drive for the third time. You rehearse a calm, reasonable speech all day. It comes out as a sentence you can't take back, and it feels wonderful. **Why it caught on:** the picture shows a woman mid-lecture, one finger up and a hand on her hip, and people used it as a ready-made template for blunt rants, warnings and sermons, often written in exaggerated dialect spelling. The name leans on the old "angry Black woman" stereotype, which paints Black women as loud, aggressive and always ready to scold. The template spread because everyone knows the moment when someone has had enough and is about to say so.
